Dark Canyon Wilderness Map

Dark Canyon Wilderness Map product image

The Dark Canyon Wilderness Map produced by the US Forest Service contains the most up-to-date information on access roads, trails, campsites, terrain, and points of interest within the Dark Canyon Wilderness. All wilderness maps contain contour lines, a topographic quad index and contact phone numbers, and the vast majority contain planning tips and descriptions of the terrain.

With narrow, steep walls that block the light in the morning and late afternoon, Dark Canyon Wilderness is aptly named. Once home to a small segment of the widespread Anasazi Indians, the canyons that make up Dark Canyon wilderness (Dark Canyon, Woodenshoe Canyon, and their tributary canyons) make up the roughly horseshoe-shaped Dark Canyon Wilderness.

This is an extraordinarily beautiful section of the Colorado Plateau where sculpted and colored walls of sandstone rise above the canyon floors.
